Crown City Symphony
(originally the Crown City Chamber Players), was founded in 2002 by
Roberta Wilcox and the Pasadena Senior Center, and gave its first
performance in 2003, with founding Music Director, Mr. Marvin Neumann,
conducting.
The Symphony's
concert season consists of two to three performances of each of its
three programs.
Crown City Symphony (CCS) is based in Pasadena, and performs there
regularly. CCS has also played in Woodland Hills, Whittier,
and Los Angeles. They have performed with the San Fernando
and Hollywood Master Chorales, and the Los Angeles Civic Opera.
Ms. Roberta Wilcox
is the Manager for the the Crown City Symphony. In addition
to founding CCS, Ms. Wilcox founded the Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber
Orchestra in 1986, and managed the Pasadena Young Musicians Orchestra
from 1994 to 2003. Her newest orchestra is "Second
Strings." Ms. Wilcox taught instrumental music in the
elementary schools for the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD), and
continues to teach violin and viola privately.
